Project Highlight: Calleguas – Las Virgenes Interconnection
Built by Kiewit
The Calleguas-Las Virgenes Interconnection project has been underway for over two years and focuses on connecting two vital water systems in southern California. The Calleguas Municipal Water District and Las Virgenes Municipal Water District rely on imported water from the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, which is essential to serving the communities in Ventura County. To get a more reliable water supply, the project is building an interconnection between the two systems, providing a safeguard against any disruptions to the water supply. The scope of the project includes a one-mile-long tunnel through the Santa Susana Mountains, a critical infrastructure development for the region.
To support the project’s monitoring and ensure high-quality footage for progress tracking, the Kiewit team deployed two of TrueLook’s Fixed-Position Cameras on site. These advanced cameras provide continuous real-time coverage, capturing detailed views of the project in all weather conditions. Over the course of the project, TrueLook’s Cameras have enabled remote live viewing, allowing Kiewit to efficiently manage the construction and maintain accurate records of progress, all while ensuring high visibility for stakeholders throughout the project’s duration.
